Soccer.
The global language of soccer brings kids together and allows them to develop skills in leadership, teamwork, hard work and the importance of fitness.
Poetry.
We foster a sense of connection, identity, and community among students by having them write and share a poem reflecting on the days teachings.
Service.
Our students, staff, and local kids work together to learn from each other in our mutual exchange service model.

Boruca Masks.
The Boruca people are recognized for their beautiful, ornately carved wooden masks. The intricate creation of the Boruca mask is a skill passed down over centuries.
Danza de los Diablitos.
Danza de los Diablitos (The Dance of the Little Devils) is a three day festival that encompasses the identity, pride, and traditions of the Boruca people.

Cuba has 9 UNESCO World Heritage sites, dozens of protected nature and wildlife reserves including 6 UNESCO biosphere reserves.
The capital of Cuba, Havana, has a rich artistic legacy that includes 40 museums dedicated to everything from fine arts to chocolate. Cuba’s ballet institute is among the finest in the world and art galleries grace the palm tree-fringed plazas in Old Havana.
Cárdenas is a municipality and city in the Matanzas Province of Cuba, about 116 km by air [156 km by road] east of Havana. We will explore the art of La Habana on our last two days before returning to the US.
